Peace is Harnessed

From Life by Design, Not Default, Vol. 1

Peace isn’t found; it is harnessed. I’ve often heard the phrase “find your peace” or “find my peace,” and long ago realized peace isn’t something sitting around to pick up, or something for someone else to hand you.

Peace exists constantly. We can choose it over and over, but in order to truly have it, we have to harness it. We have to be committed to it — making it, not just experiencing it.

Energy is always present. It doesn’t disappear because no one is using it. Left unmanaged, it can be chaotic, destructive, or simply wasted. But when it’s contained, directed, and respected, it becomes useful. Powerful. Reliable.

Peace works the same way. It isn’t passive. It doesn’t arrive only when life behaves. It requires intention. Structure. Repetition.

We don’t wait for calm conditions to access it. We decide how we move through what’s already happening. We guide where our attention goes. We regulate what we feed. We choose what we respond to and what we don’t.

Peace isn’t something we stumble into. It’s something we work with — deliberately — until it works for us.
